I love cooking with Bodhi, I love pizza and I love books with a positive message. So, when I found Pete’s a Pizza by William Steig (aff), I found gold.
On a gloomy and rainy day, Pete gets sad and bored. His parents have the brilliant idea to turn him into a pizza, tickle him and chase him around so they can eat him up.
Bodhi and I have spent many days doing this routine: Reading Pete’s a Pizza, turning Bodhi into a pizza and then cooking our own pizza together. It’s the perfect little afternoon plan- literacy, imagination, exercise, cooking.
And it’s a great way to talk to your children about using your imagination to overcome boredom!
